Hi Anna & George,
It feels much longer than just over a week that Lucie has been with us. It's incredible how much she has enriched our lives with so much love in such a small amount of time! Thought I'd give you an update on how Lucie is doing.
She is nearly fearless! We have introduced her to many new sights and sounds:
Blender, coffee machine, coffee grinder, electric toothbrush, vacuum, music, door bell and the hairdryer.
None of which she has reacted to much except when the hairdryer is blowing her way!
She loves her squeaky toys, her plush toys, rope and the soccer ball! We play outside every day and loves to run, jump and play (she is learning to watch where she is going! Well, both she and Dylan are; they have both bumped into things while playing with each other!) Ironically she has no interest in the puppy poo patch we seeded for her!!
We have introduced a bell by the door and she is ringing the majority of the time to go out and do her business outside. From night one, she slept well with 1 small whimper in the night and would settle back to sleep with often just my hand at the door.
She has slept through the night without a sound for the past 2 nights and is very comfortable in her bigger crate now for her naps/over night.
We are slowly getting her used to the bath with toys and dipping her feet in an inch of water and wetting her with our hands; she's pretty calm and doing well but gotta say, doesn't really look like she super enjoys it 😊.
She is eating more eagerly if fed by hand still but will eat some from her bowl as well, particularly when first fed.
She has independently jumped up on the kids' lower foot rests on their chairs, exploring. She is also very eager to get down those stairs so we have just started practicing on the inside carpeted stairs today with pillows at the bottom! super at getting up, cautious when going down but is NOT frightened at all!
Lucie is also training; she knows sit and lie down (just today she really got it!) So proud.
She loves her snuggles with each and every one of us, and can't bear to have us leave the room! She often curls up at my feet.
Her booster shots are next weekend @ Thunderbird, as is our first training session with the trainer. I hope you received the email RE health check. I asked them to...
Hope you are both well and rested. I'm sure all of us new parents can tell how much time you have spent with these little fur babies to have them adjusted so well in their new homes.
Speak soon,
Erin
Hi Erin,
Thank you so much for the update and kind words! 💗
We really appreciate hearing how our puppies are doing once we let them go – and miss them.
We look forward to seeing Lucie grow and hearing of her future adventures – and of course, having her visit us!
Thanks again and hope you are enjoying your weekend with Lucie and family!
Warmly,
George and Anna
