Please beware of toxic pet treats (made in China) that have caused serious conditions in many dogs. This CBC Marketplace video highlights how detrimental these treats can be and how quickly their adverse effects take place.
When we read the ingredients list of one of the most popular brands: Waggin' Treats it seems that it is a great choice -- only Chicken breast and vegetable glycerin. However, these treats have proven toxic to many dogs. More concerning, Purina still sells Waggin' Treats in Canada and they are still made in China.
It seems that the glycerin is tainted -- causing kidney failure.
At the time of this report (2015), Canada did not require pet food labelling to include country of origin.
